The season begins! How did you guys do at Fall Battle Roads?

I know some of you are still going today though.

I didn’t attend sadly. I’ve been busy with work and haven’t touched my deck since Nats. (Still beaming over that 5-4 at Nats my first year playing.)

What did you run? What kind of decks did you see?

Let’s hear it people!

So many new followers!

Hey there! I realize I lack postings recently but things are pretty uneventful till the season starts up again. (VERY SOON!)

Feel free to message me for advice, thoughts, and anything Pokemon TCG related.

Emerging Powers Prerelease for me today.
Dat art. Let’s hope this comes stateside.

Professor Cup Scandal Coming to a Close

For those of you unaware, the Professor Cup is a tournament held each year at the end of Nationals for Professors (Judges) only. They usually have some strange rule variant to make the game interesting. (This year the ruling was only 1 type per deck and you picked your starter.)

Although something embarrassing yet interesting happened in Indy in 2011. A player going by Aydan Aires decided to try his hand in the Prof. Cup….. He is not a Professor. In his own words,

Anyways, I went up to registration and wrote my name down. I told the registers that I was new to all of this and held my own league (which I do!). They said they would look into the matter to make sure I was a judge. I thanked them knowing that if I was unable to play then it wouldn’t be a big deal to me.

We all joked what would happened if I would eventually win the Professor Cup… haha…

When pairings went up, my name was on the list and Aydan Aires was ready to wreak havoc in the Professor Cup!”

How he managed to slip through is a mystery and something I find rather saddening. Aydan then went on to WIN the Cup with a ReshiPhlosion deck and scored the following loot in all.

  • 22 Black and White Pokemon Packs – He ended up selling all of these for $30
  • Amazon Kindle – He gave to his dad.
  • A Professor Backpack – He gave to his friend in exchange for hotel/gas money.
  • The Professor Cup Trophy - He tried to sell on eBay.

He then went on to post an article on SixPrizes.com bragging about what he had done. This caught the attention of TCPi Staff and action was taken.

Recently Aydan went on to give a formal apology to the Pokemon Community and has said that TCPi will be collecting his illy obtained prizes.

What a strange Pokemon season this year.

What are your thoughts?

Bored? Like looking at cards? I got paid with a box and 15 packs for volunteering to work for Pokemon during the last 2 days of US National Championships. Go ahead and watch me crack the box open.

Less then a month away until Emerging Powers PreReleases!

Who’s going?

What cards are you looking forward to in Emerging Powers? Which ones are you wishing would go away?

Remember when I said I was a Front Page Writer for SixPrizes.com?

Well here’s all that I’ve written for them so far.
